I am back!

You noticed it: strange messages on your player homepage, page changes that disappear an hour later and last not least: new errors ... well, your webmaster is back!

I have to apologize to all of you for my long absence. My regular job (the one I get a living for) demanded 100 percent of my attention. So I simply did not find the time for PlayChess.

That's why so many planned features are still under development. And it explains the delay with the Swiss tournaments. Our tournament director Paul has nothing to do with these delays - it's all up to me. Sorry!

The good news is that the next round of the Swiss tournaments will start soon. Players who did not start their game in the last round will be withdrawn from the tournament - unless they tell me otherwise (hint, hint, ...). The exact starting dates will be published soon.

Dear sir i write u abt some problems on the new site layout, in the specific abt the table position when i make my move having black pieces and to the next game having white ones. the proble is that my point of wiev on the chesses is sometimes turned 180° as if i were sitted on the place of whom i am playing against!!! pls check out this problem if u can tks

I have noticed the same error as Milosforman. I have also noticed that there is another error that means that when I move I get an email telling me that my move is my opponents. For example, in my game against xavierdupret (HCL-A1898-1) I have just received by email the move: 21. Qc5+. I am black and I have just moved so it should say 21 ... Qc5+, and I should not get it anyway because I only receive my opponents moves. I suspect that these two bugs could be related.

PS, until these last few news items I had not noticed you had been absent. This is probably an indication of how well designed and stable this site is.

when i go to the games finished games in hcl, at every link that i click i go to the game froilo-MasterStefan, please correct that

So far I haven't noticed any errors. It's a great improvement! Now I don't have to use the preview button anymore. It can be replaced by the "Enter new move" button. Thomas, great work!

I've noticed the bug refered by Stefan too, and when you make a move on your last game to move instead of going to the homepage it just shows the same page like if you haven't do nothing. I'm sorry but I don't like the new changes...
