Men vs. Machines

Three strong grandmasters, Veselin Topalov, Ruslan Ponomariov and Sergey Karjakin are challenging three of the strongest chess programs, Hydra, Junior and Fritz in Bilbao.

The results of the first round are surprising (for me):

Junior - Topalov 1/2 - 1/2
Ponomariov - Hydra 0 - 1
Fritz - Karjakin 1 - 0

The machines lead with 2.5 : 0.5 !

If you read chessbase news artical on the event, you will read that Ponomariov had his hands full with his friends chess game on his cell phone! These programs will soon dominate the best humanity has to offer and we can get back to playing each other. We are no longer interested in watching cars race horses...
P.S. When will the next round of the HCL swiss begin.
