FortKnox has made his very last move

Sjaak Coenraads (FortKnox) has died on July 8th.

If you ever met him here, you know that he has been one of the most pleasant players. We will miss him.

I had the pleasure to meet him in our HCL Swiss tournament. He found a novelty in Move 4 of the Grob opening - he defeated me easily.

This is the novelty. I have not found any example for this move in several databases, nor did I find a satisfying continuation.

You can find the complete game here:

We will not forget you, Sjaak!

It was a great shock to see our intresting game ending so sudden. Sjaak will leave some intresting chess games behind. One of them is his daring victory in the English Opening over me. I wish somebody could produce small pamphlet of his strongest games for the family.

I condole with his family.

My pleasure on winning a game past quickly on learning the reason.

Best wishes to his friends and family at this sad time.

I´m sorry to hear this. We were just playing our first game and I was wondering why he didn´t make a move anymore. To win in this fashion a quite fascinating game makes me feel sad. I would also agree with Josef Riha to not count the games he lost on time.
All the best to his family.

You lost almost 500 PCR (PlayChess Rating) points - from about 2039 to 1547.
It isn't fair.
You shouldn't been died.

I don't know if there's Chess in Heaven.
Do me a favour: teach some guys, Angels, perhaps, or even God, how to play it!
I'll meet you there later.

It was a real pleasure to meet you and to play with you.
I'll miss you.

Very sad to here of his death. I played him a few times in thematics. Skilled player and always a gentleman to play. Deep sympathy to his family. You will be missed

My deepest sympathy to his loved ones, I am sad to hear that FortKnox has passed on. I enjoyed playing chess with him, he always played a tough game, that kept me on my toes, I am going to miss playing him, and also I want to put my vote in to keep his rating same as the day he died!

It's sad to see a great player and a true chess gentleman depart.
This endgame that he lost on this game (life) will start a new opening move on the next game (heaven).
I allways enjoy playing with FortKnox.
My deepest sympathy to his loved ones

I'm very sorry to hear of FortKnox's death, we were the same age so it touchs me very closely. He was one of very few players to have a plus balance in our games, one always felt even in ACL games a real intellect behind his moves.

Maybe he had played one of his last games against me...I am very sorry to hear that he is dead. My deepest sympathy to his loved ones...goodbye to a strong player and a real nice man.
