Conditional moves - last orders, please!

An improved version of our conditional moves has just been uploaded. Now, you can enter several (even longer) variants that differ only some moves later.

For example, you (as Black) enter the move sequences
- e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bb5 a6 Ba4 b5
- e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bb5 a6 Bxc6 dxc6
- e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bc4 Nf6

The game goes 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 (until here, all three variants are still possible). After 3.Bb5 a6, however, the third variant is deleted from the database, because this CM sequence is no longer possible. Only the variants
- Ba4 b5
- Bxc6 dxc6
are remaining. After White's 4th move no CM remain in the database for that game - until you or your opponent enter new CM sequences.

This is the last test phase. If everything goes well, I will activate CM for tournament games next weekend.

Alas - this is a member-only feature.

Sorry, I'm confused. What did you change?
Wasn't what you're describing always possible since CMs were created for the site?

No, there had been an error: After 1.e4 e5 the server would have reduced the 3 variants to only one. But you are right: the above behaviour is what one would have expected from the start. Interestingly, nobody noticed that error.

Why do I get this message?

"Conditional moves are not allowed for this game."

When you click on COND and get to the board that allows you to make conditional moves: If you click on a piece before clicking the NEW MOVES button, you get an error message that says "MISSING:T051."
Doesn't seem to hurt anything when it happens, but it probably shouldn't be there.

I forgot to upload the language file for translators. "Normal" users already saw the correct message - sorry. Thanks for notifying!

Is it an error?
When I enter a odd number of half-play, I've got the error message "You must enter an even number of half-moves", OK, but all the half-moves still entered are eliminated from the list. It's boring!

Conditional moves in e mail chess are just fuine. You can hold an game undre pressure and makes it a little faster.

It would be nice to add "any opponent move" to the sequence. It is useful for positions with forced checkmate for example - nevermind what move my opponent makes, I mate in the same manner.
