Not knowing what is going on with the tourny is worse than knowing it will be another three months.

I agree. And is there room for another one to run alongside? Surely there must be another 150 members willing to join a Swiss tournament?

I posted in the forum about this.
I send a message to the Tournament director, Paul van Rooijen. Has told me he was going to contact Thomas.
I send a email to Thomas.

And all without an answer from Thomas.

And the strange thing. Thomas is logging in every day. This is his player-id http://www.playchess.de/players/Sixty4

If there are problems (with the system or personal) I can understand but atleast let us know.

Until now I thought playchess to be a very good site worth my payment.

I joined this site back in 2001 and Thomas was very active on the message boards. Lately thou, the news from Thomas and replys to posts have dropped off. Hopefully its just his job is taking more time than normal, but it is currious that he hasnt responded to customers concerns. I hope he is healthy and well.

As far as can be seen he is healty.
Atleast he (or somebody using his account, see my previous post for a link) logged in the system today.

I must apologize: of course I should have announced something about the HCL Swiss since long... SORRY!

I have several (foul) excuses: my computer crashed again, urgent family affairs, a business trip and most of all, lots of work in my regular job.

Even if I log in (nearly) every day, I am too busy to do much more than checking if the server is running and answering emails (at least I try).

But all this is not enough - I should have told you long before! The TD Paul van Rooijen has send the pairings quite a while ago (the delay is NOT his fault!), but I did not find the time to "translate" these for the PlayChess server.

I will publish the pairings next week so that the second round can start on November 15th.

Thanks, Thomas.

How about a third tournament? What are the resource/admin implications involved?

You address the critical points. Obviously I am too slow to manage 2 Swiss tournaments - how could I dare to start a third one?

Nevertheless: never say never... As soon as I have more time I will consider your proposal again.

Could someone else volunteer to manage it for you? What does it entail, and does the software allow for another user having the right to assign pairings etc?
